Location:

Blending simplicity & luxury in a stunning environment, our private beachfront villa is the perfect place to unwind and press pause. Set amidst sand dunes in a hidden location in front of a secluded beach, and only a few steps from the crystal shallow and warm blue waters of the Mediterranean sea.

The villa itself has plenty of quiet places to retreat to, as well as spacious welcoming communal spaces for you to hang out and connect with other retreaters, depending on whatever energy you might need.

Its secluded location makes it more peaceful and quiet and the lack of light pollution at night makes for some incredible night skies.

Food

We are incredibly lucky to have Soph Gordon, chef, and author of The Whole Vegetable, catering for us. Sophie's passion for cooking is evident when you meet her. She loves to work with seasonal produce, creating dishes that are sustainable and minimising waste by using the whole vegetable, fruit, or grain. Sophie creates recipes that are dedicated to a veg-centric table, from the earth, fresh, to the table, aiming to create a spread that is not only environmentally friendly but a joyous experience.

The food will be representative of the culture, with an emphasis on sustainability, using seasonal, local ingredients. Think farm-to-table fresh. Meals will be heavily veg-centric, with options like eggs, and cheese, with the potential for fish if it’s local and fresh. We feel strongly about creating a supportive, judgment-free environment so all food choices will be welcomed and respected. You can let us know more about your dietary requirements when you book.

Your Instructors

Jaime Hepburn

Jaime is the Founder of Basic Space and The Yoga Library. With 8 years and 3000+ hours of experience teaching, Jaime has developed the knowledge and confidence to create and lead beautiful, well-designed classes and retreats. Always set to a consciously-curated, ‘groovy’ playlist, Jaime’s classes combine fluid movement with static core-driven holds and playful inversions. Classes are challenging, but always open and welcoming to all levels. Jaime teaches based on feel - drawing from energy, beings, seasons… She’s influenced by many different modalities of yoga and movement. Jaime goes with the flow. She encourages self-exploration and self-guidance on the mat.

Jess Learoyd

Jess is a Lululemon Ambassador and Studio Director of Basic Space. Jess’ classes have a strong emphasis on balance, both physically and mentally. She encourages you to find strength in stillness and to grasp the lightness when it gets a little tough. Jess teaches a slow[ish] Vinyasa practice, you'll move around the mat with creative, playful transitions that really keep your focus in check, weaved together with a playlist created to keep your vibe high when it gets a little sticky, and then mellow yourself back down.

Nat Kunz

Nat quickly earned notoriety at Basic Space for her Pilates classes. They are challenging at their core, but you will always feel supported by her intelligent sequencing and purposeful language. Music is her love language, so you can expect a thoughtfully curated playlist that seamlessly moves you through the rhythmic flow. She fosters an environment where individuals are encouraged to listen to their bodies, acknowledging and meeting them at their present state. Nat's ultimate aim is for you to feel empowered, enabling you to make choices that align with your body, mind, heart, and soul each time you step onto your mat. With a classical Pilates background, 16 years of experience as a dancer, and expertise in various movement modalities like Barre, spin, and The Class by Taryn Toomey, Nat's profound understanding of the body and its mechanics ensures you receive comprehensive support and engage muscles you never knew existed.

Getting There

The closest airport is Heraklion, a 75-90 min drive away. Transfers to and from the airport are not included, but we can arrange them for you and will connect you with guests from the same flight. There is currently an early Easy Jet flight available, which departs London around 7am, as well as a British Airways flight departing around 930am.

If you want freedom to explore, I do recommend renting a car as cabs are expensive. Check-in is 12 pm on Wednesday and 10 am Sunday
